DANIELA J SCHUPP MD PHD, FACS

Board-Certified General Surgeon

Dr. Schupp was born and raised in Germany but graduated from Mayo High School in Rochester, Minnesota.  She returned to Germany and attended University of Heidelberg Medical School, earning her MD and PhD degrees there.

She returned to the United States for her medical internship at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado and completed her residency at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Virginia.

In 2009, she moved to Grand Junction and started working as a general surgeon in the Valley. She is board-certified in General Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Outside of the operating room, Dr. Schupp enjoys being active with her family, volunteering for Grand Valley Dancers Foundation, and taking classes at the Art Center. She practices art quilt-making and traditional quilting, and she also loves to go hiking, walking with her family’s rescue puppy, reading, gardening, camping, skiing, and supporting the local "dance world”.

Joanna Campfield

Registered Medical Assistant

Joanna, affectionately known to many as "Jo" or "Jojo" has lives in Grand Junction since 1996, moving here for the small-town, low-stress feel after her son lost his sight to cancer.  She started her career as a Medical Assistant for Women's Health Care and subsequently worked for Dr. Murphy in pediatrics for 12 years.  She is now excited to join Dr. Schupp in caring for her patients and learning about her general surgery practice.  Outside of work she taught dance for many years and still meets with friends to practice and learn new routines for fun.  She and her fiancé enjoy riding their e-bikes (easier on the knees!), paddle boarding, working out at the gym, attending church together and traveling to various "beachy" places.  Joanna says the best thing about Grand Junction is the quality, long-lasting friendships she has made. Life is so much better with friends.
